Senior Portrait Scholarships available through IBDG

Images by Doug Goodwin is offering Senior Portrait Scholarships for three deserving seniors graduating with the class of 2009. Each scholarship will include a full portrait session and a portrait package, value one at $530 each.

Applications are being accepted through September 5, 2008. Winners will be announced September 15, 2008. The following article outlines the application process, the qualifications and the reason why IBDG is offering the scholarships.

It's Senior Portrait Time!

June is here and school is out. This means lots of fun in the sun for most students, but if you are an upcoming high school senior, it is time for senior pictures. Senior portraits are something that most high school students look forward to and start planning for as early as their freshman year. They wonder which photographer they will select, what they will wear, and which poses they will choose. It is an exciting experience if the proper choice is made, and it kicks off their entire senior year.

Last year, one of my senior clients made a comment that has stayed with me. She said "I have never looked this awesome before, and I don't know how you did it, but I absolutely love all my senior pictures." She left me with a hug, and a big "Thank you" to round out my day. This is our goal with each and every client: We want to use all of our talents to create images that will be treasured for a lifetime.

For most students it is just a matter of choosing a studio and making an appointment. Images by Doug Goodwin is aware that some students don't have the opportunity to make that choice. There are a variety of reasons that can prohibit seniors from being able to have the portraits they are dreaming of. Many families are experiencing financial setbacks, and Doug Goodwin would like to remove this obstacle for three seniors from the Class of 2009. "We feel it is important that every high school senior have a wonderful experience, feel like a model for a day and select a portrait package to share with their family and friends," says Doug Goodwin.

Images by Doug Goodwin is offering a Senior Portrait Scholarship Program for three upcoming high school seniors. Each student chosen will receive a complete portrait session at our studio and a Senior Portrait Package which includes a 16x20 wall portrait with gift portraits and wallets, for a total value of $530.00. You must submit an essay (300 words or less) stating why you or the person you are nominating deserves to receive one of these scholarships. Awards will be based on financial needs or personal circumstances, scholarship, and character. You must send the essay and application to the studio address at 21772 Lancaster Rd, Lebanon, MO 65536. Applications can be downloaded by selecting the link at the top of the page and printing the pdf file. Applications are also available at the studio, which is located 1/2 way between Camdenton and Lebanon (see link "Location"). This year we are also going to try to make these applications available from counselors in area schools.

Applications must be received at the studio by September 5, 2009. The scholarship awards will be announced by Monday, September 15, 2009.
